Subediting, copyediting and proofreading

You probably have something to say. Your company is looking for customers. Your magazine needs to reach readers. Your website has stacks of great content, but the words are coming out wrong.

That’s where a copyeditor comes in.

A copyeditor – also known as a subeditor or simply an editor – takes your words and turns them into a polished, reader-friendly product. It doesn’t matter whether you’re printing high-quality brochures or selling shabby chic on an e-commerce website, it’s vitally important that your content is precise and easy to understand.

A poorly-written leaflet can turn away hordes of potential customers, but something smart will keep their eyes on the page – potentially encouraging would-be buyers to reach their hands into their pockets.

Spoon Media’s copyeditors can make your words sound like sales-driven advertising, businesslike proposals or even gentle storytelling – without losing any of your vital meaning, personality or corporate tone.

We might rewrite your sentences, rearrange paragraphs, add headlines, cut away surplus phrases or construct complete sections, yet you’ll still recognise your own image in what we change and create.

Spoon Media’s editors are widely experienced subeditors and production editors, proficient in subediting magazines, copyediting promotional materials and book editing international publications. We’re just as happy when tidying up the bullet points on business cards as we are when tackling a blue chip company’s annual report. We’re adept in specialised sectors – from finance to motoring – and we assure all of our clients a huge degree of accuracy and real-world editing rates.

Alternatively, if your written work doesn’t require a rewrite, our proofreading service is quick, accessible and competitively-priced. Spoon Media’s proofreaders are fact-checking, spell-checking, style-checking, typography-checking experts – so check us out.

We’re always happy to advise on whether you need our editing or proofreading services, and we’ll give you an honest appraisal if we think your words work well without any external intervention.

We’re passionate about language. We love clarity. We’re obsessive about spelling and we’re consistently keen on spotting mistakes. We’ll stir style into whatever you write.
